Pamekasan regency is situated in the eastern part of Java Island and is one of the Indonesia Java International Destination. This regency is located in between the Sumenep regency which is towards the east and the Sampang regency which is in the south part. On the north side of this regency is the Java sea and it is at a distance of 33km from the Sampang. This region is famous for its handmade batik work and many activities like Animals husbandry, mining, plantation and agriculture are conducted here. This place is also famous for its culture, tourism potential and industrial base. Pameskan regency, an Indonesia Java International Destination has rich cultural back ground and several arts are being practiced here.
Bull race that is practiced in this regency attracts many tourists from the domestic land and foreigners. This bull race is conducted in the month of September and it goes on till the beginning of the month of November. In the final stages of the game contest is held between participants for winning the President Cup. There is also a cow race called “Sonok” that is held along with the bull race and also Pecot dance program is conducted. Talang Siring Beach is another tourist destination in this region which consists of white sand and the waves are calm allowing the visitors to swim in the beach safely.
